The unconventional Vince GiRonada became popular for his famous egg diet - 36 eggs a day.

Yeah, you heard that right! Quite unconventional.

Those who do not know: Vince Gironda, a.k.a. the Iron Guru, revolutionized the field of bodybuilding with his pathbreaking dietary ideas for faster muscle gain.

The Low Carb Pioneer propagated the 36 Eggs a day diet – a diet based on eggs.

Golden-era bodybuilders such as Bill Grant, Don Howorth, and Don Peters swore by this diet. Scientists conducted studies using their blood samples and hours of observation of their diet. They claimed egg as a superfood with abilities to heal severe skin burns due to its high anabolic effect.

The high anabolic effect of eggs induces anabolism – the synthesis of complex molecules to build organs and tissues.

The constant supply of high protein helps maintain the blood sugar level to induce positive nitrogen balance (anabolic effect).

Once you consume an egg, it turns into muscle protein and various other proteins, thus, becoming the ultimate muscle-building agent as it builds more protein in the body.

48 % of an egg turns into body tissue: the highest!

Next is meat and fish (32%), followed by others such as soy and dairy.

Eggs are a Superfood: a truly wholesome natural food. A single egg contains:

  • Selenium: 22% of the RDA
  • Vitamin B2: 15% of the RDA
  • Vitamin B12: 9% of the RDA
  • Phosphorus: 9% of the RDA
  • Vitamin B5: 7% of the RDA
  • Vitamin A: 6% of the RDA
  • Folate: 5% of the RDA

Vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin K, vitamin B6, calcium, and zinc are also present in generous amount.

Each serving has 77 calories, 6 grams of protein, and 5 grams of healthy fats.

Even if not interested in bodybuilding, the following benefits of consuming egg might make you consider it:

1. Cholesterol: It raises your good cholesterol (High-Density Lipoprotein – HDL). Good cholesterol lowers the risk of heart disease, strokes, and various other health problems.

2. Choline: Choline, an important nutrient essential for brain development, is available in the highest quantity in eggs. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, consumption is highly recommended for a child’s brain development.

3.
Healthy fats: Rich in nutrient-dense healthy fats, eggs are a dependable energy source throughout the day.

4. Antioxidants: Lutein and zeaxanthin, two antioxidants present in a generous amount in eggs, protect eyesight from harmful sunlight and other eye diseases.

Eggs are essential to lead an optimally healthy life.

Upping your egg intake to 4-5 in a day is considered okay.

Most importantly, you must strive to eat organic eggs for maximum benefits.
